Physician - Primary Care

Job Summary

Essen Health Care is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Providers (MD or DO) for various regions including Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Poughkeepsie, Long Island, and Westchester County. This role involves providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the standard of care for Nursing Home patients. Key responsibilities include assessing and diagnosing patients, prescribing appropriate medication, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Meet, assess, and diagnose patients
• Prescribe medication, health regimens, and lifestyle adjustments
• Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose conditions and propose treatment options
• Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure allergy information is up-to-date
• Provide advice on lifestyle and diet changes to improve health or treat health issues
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with health information privacy laws
• Record complete, timely, and legible medical records
• Collaborate with the primary healthcare team to provide primary medical care services
• Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when necessary

Requirements

• BC/BE in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care/Hospice, or Family Medicine
• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from an accredited United States medical school
• Successful completion of residency and an accredited healthcare institution
• Completed a US residency or 5-year pathway
• Active NY License
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting
• Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating effectively with them

Essen Health Care offers competitive compensation, including a salary range of $250,000 - $300,000.
