Physician Practice Specialist (Family Practice Clinic)

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and take detailed messages
• Greet and/or assist patients
• Knowledge of Practice Management System (Caretracker)
• Checking in/out of patients
• Input Demographics
• Verify Insurance
• Collection of co-pays/coinsurances
• Knowledge and Input of billing
• Closing out/Balance Charges and payments at the end of clinic
• Scheduling patients with referring physician offices
• Affix in other clinics as directed by supervisor
• Affix in training of new employees

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Certification from a billing/coding program preferred
• Minimal one-year commutative working experience in some type of billing and coding position if possible
• Must have had exposure in previous jobs with working and communicating with the public as a customer
• Medical practice background preferred
• At least 3-5 years previous experience in the filing and collection of Medicaid rules and regulations
