About the role

The Physician Practice Lead RN provides clinical leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within the UHS physician practices. This role serves as a vital link between frontline staff and operational leadership, assisting in the promotion of excellence in clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Lead RN fosters a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement—engaging patients, healthcare teams, and the broader community in the pursuit of optimal health outcomes. The RN is accountable for maintaining compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and Nursing Division policies, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the Patient Bill of Rights. This role promotes a healing and supportive environment, fostering patient-centered care and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight within UHS physician practices.
  • Serve as a link between frontline staff and operational leadership.
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage patients, healthcare teams, and the broader community to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, UHS policies, ANA standards, and the Patient Bill of Rights.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least one year experience in an acute or ambulatory based care setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • National Certification.
  • Clinical Ladder Nurse Level III.
  • Current NY State RN license.
  • Documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of employment.

Pay

$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Day Regular, 40 scheduled weekly hours.
