About the role

In cooperation with other members of the department clinical staff, an Ochsner Staff Physician will provide and coordinate patient care by abiding by Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence and The Responsibilities of the Professional Staff Ochsner Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana is searching for a BC/BE Fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist, with sub-fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia or experience with Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 3 Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Faculty members.
  • Practice includes the full range of congenital cardiac pathology and palliative repairs.
  • Offer pediatric heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices.
  • Serve a 54-bed Level III-C NICU and a 26 bed PICU.
  • Cover ~250 bypass cases and ~500 cath lab cases per year.
  • Work with a small team of CRNAs with abundant congenital cardiac experience.
  • Ratio is typically 1:1.
  • Nationally competitive compensation and benefits package.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A BC/BE Fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist, with sub-fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia or experience with Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
  • Experience with pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac based procedures.
  • Goal of this position is 100% pediatric practice.
  • Adult anesthesia cases are available if desired.
