Physician - Anesthesiology (Cardiac)

Summary

The Eastern Colorado Health Care System is seeking a Physician - Anesthesiologist (Cardiac).

About the Role

Function/Scope of the Position: The staff anesthesiologist administers anesthesia care alone or supervises physicians in-training (residents) or certified registered nurse anesthetists.

Responsibilities

• Examine the patient before and after anesthesia
• Write pre- and post-anesthesia orders
• Confirm the patient is ready for anesthesia before induction
• Manage the anesthetic period
• Follow patients if appropriate in the post-anesthesia period
• Supervise trainees by reviewing patient history, confirming treatment, participating in demanding procedures, and ensuring proper anesthesia administration
• Contribute to teaching needs of the Department of Anesthesiology
• Participate in clinical and/or laboratory research

Requirements

• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
• Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty program
• Board certification preferred
• Experience with Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) and cardiac anesthesia

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: United States citizenship, MD or equivalent degree from an approved school, current full and unrestricted license, completed residency training, and board certification
• Additional Requirements: Proficiency in English, preference for TEE and cardiac experience, and ability to work independently or supervise others
