Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, invites applications for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. This academic appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level requires candidates to hold or be eligible for a Kentucky physician license, possess an MD/DO or equivalent degree, and be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology. The faculty member will also collaborate on research activities for clinical projects and care reports, as well as participate in professional development activities such as regional, state, and national meetings.

The Golisano Children’s Hospital at UK has Eastern and Central Kentucky’s only Level I pediatric trauma center, Level IV neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. In addition, this facility houses more than 30 advanced sub-specialty programs, such as pediatric oncology and pediatric surgery. Our collaboration with the Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute means we have joined forces to provide advanced pediatric heart care close to home for patients in Kentucky. The collaboration combines the strength of UK HealthCare’s advanced pediatric and adult congenital heart care with Cincinnati Children’s nationally ranked experts in pediatric cardiac care and surgery.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Minimum residency training of three years in Pediatrics and three years in Pediatric Cardiology
  • Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky
  • Eligible for certification, or certified by, the American Board of Pediatrics and sub-board of Pediatric Cardiology
