Physician - Pediatric Cardiologist

About the role

Ochsner Health Baton Rouge is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Cardiologist to join a busy outpatient based pediatric cardiology practice as a partner to two experienced pediatric cardiologists. The role is a primarily outpatient pediatric cardiology position with some inpatient responsibilities consisting of mainly NICU care and inpatient pediatric cardiology consults at several local hospitals. The position requires a strong background in transthoracic echo. Fetal echo experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to pediatric patients with congenital heart disease
• Conduct echocardiograms and other diagnostic tests
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
• Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
• Contribute to research activities related to pediatric cardiology
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical case conferences

Requirements

• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana
• Completion of an accredited ACGME/ACGME-approved pediatric residency program
• Completion of a pediatric cardiology fellowship program
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Passing scores on the USMLE or COMLEX exams

• Strong clinical skills in pediatric cardiology
• Experience with echocardiography and other diagnostic imaging techniques

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
