About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Palliative Care medicine.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
  • Successful candidate must have completed residency in internal medicine or family medicine and fellowship in palliative care by the time of appointment.
  • Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Palliative Medicine.

Section of Geriatrics, Palliative Medicine and Hospice

The Section of Geriatrics, Palliative Medicine and Hospice at WVU has the main mission to advance health care and quality of life for older people and those with serious illnesses. Our Palliative Medicine and Hospice team provides patient and family centered care that offers quality of life for patients with life limiting illnesses by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. Inpatient and outpatient services are provided, including local nursing homes.
