About the Role
This is an employed civilian Physician (Pain Management) position offering job security, a competitive salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, and a comprehensive benefits package. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is a 246-square-mile military training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina, established in 1941.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients referred for comprehensive pain management and/or a functional restoration program in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Implement integrative treatments such as acupuncture, manual medicine, nutritional and lifestyle advice, and other complementary and alternative medicine methods within recognized professional practice parameters.
- Serve as a specialty consultant to other departments, services, and healthcare providers for diseases and conditions marked by acute and chronic pain.
- Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies, including urine, blood, and tissue specimens.
- Oversee, teach, lecture, mentor, and provide consultation to other healthcare providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows).
- Perform a full spectrum of interventional pain procedures, such as epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations, and sympathetic blocks, utilizing fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Board Certified in Pain Management, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Anesthesiology, Neurology, or Psychiatry with a pain fellowship.
- Must hold a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
