The position is located at Naval Health Clinic, Annapolis, MD. The United States Naval Academy is a federal service academy educating midshipmen for service in the officer corps of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. The 338-acre campus is a National Historic Landmark located at the confluence of the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay in Anne Arundel County.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Family Practice Physician responsible for professional diagnosis, treatment, referral, and disposition of patients.
- Provide comprehensive Family Medicine medical care to a broad range of patients with both common and complex medical concerns.
- Coordinate with facility and community resources to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients.
- Participate in committees and meetings that evaluate patient care, identifying opportunities to improve care delivery.
- Apply new procedures in the evaluation and treatment of complex patient cases and conduct research for the advancement of the Family Medicine program and quality improvement.

- Basic Requirement:
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada, accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- A foreign medical degree must demonstrate equivalency to accredited schools in the United States, evidenced by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
- Applicants must attach a copy of their transcripts or proof of foreign equivalency with their application package.
- Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution).
- Residency Training: Successful completion of the required accredited residency training in Family Practice or Family Medicine, equivalent to at least 4 years. Experience may not substitute for required residency training.
