About the role

The successful candidate will provide a mix of outpatient, inpatient, and surgical orthopedic care while also providing some general orthopedic services. This position includes state-of-the-art joint replacements, including total knee and hip replacements, carpal tunnel release, joint arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and foot and hand surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient, inpatient, and surgical orthopedic care.
  • Perform state-of-the-art joint replacements, including total knee and hip replacements, carpal tunnel release, joint arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and foot and hand surgery.
  • Collaborate with a diverse physical rehabilitation and sports medicine department.
  • Support a weekly sports medicine clinic for individuals of all ages who suffer from sports-related injuries.
  • Collaborate with the orthopedic surgery team throughout MaineHealth.

Requirements

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Active and unrestricted State of Maine medical license, or ability to obtain prior employment.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-residency experience preferred.
  • Experience with sports medicine and orthopedic surgery is preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
