Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance to physicians in assessing patient needs via data from history, observation, physical exams, telephone triage, and analysis of diagnostic data.
  • Executes direct patient care tasks, including triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up communications.
  • Prepares patients for physician visits, formulates initial databases, and documents pertinent information in patient charts.
  • Carries out specialized tests and administers medications and injections as directed by the physician.
  • Assists with treatments and procedures, provides patient education, schedules testing and referrals, and handles patient consultations.
  • Cleans and organizes examination rooms, maintains equipment, and orders medical supplies.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
