Physician Office - FT - LPN - McLeod Internal Medicine Dillon

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to the physician in assessing patient needs.
• Executes direct patient care tasks, including but not limited to triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge and follow-up instructions.
• Prepares patients for physician consultations and documents all relevant information in the patient’s medical record.
• Carries out specialized tests and performs medication preparation and administration as directed by the physician.
• Assists in scheduling testing and referral appointments for patients and provides patient education.
• Communicates with patients via phone, addressing their concerns and referring them to the physician as necessary.
• Makes follow-up calls to patients as needed.
• Cleans and organizes examination rooms, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintains medical supply inventory, checks drug expiration dates, and manages equipment maintenance.
• Orders medical supplies and interacts with pharmaceutical representatives.
• Develops and maintains expertise in operating various medical equipment.
• Contributes to a positive work environment by encouraging colleagues’ professional development and participating in quality assurance initiatives.
• Supports the practice mission and philosophy by promoting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Computer skills are required.
