Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance to the physician in assessing patient needs.
  • Carries out direct patient care tasks, including triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up.
  • Prepares patients for physician visits and documents all relevant information in the patient's medical record.
  • Executes specialized tests and administers medications and injections as directed by the physician.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling for testing and referrals, and provides patient education.
  • Handles patient calls for consultations or referrals, and conducts follow-up calls as necessary.
  • Cleans and organizes examination rooms, maintains equipment, and reports malfunctions.
  • Maintains medical supply inventory and ensures compliance with medication and vaccine expiration dates.
  • Orders medical supplies and interacts with pharmaceutical representatives.
  • Develops and updates skills in various medical equipment.
  • Encourages and supports ongoing professional development among colleagues.
  • Participates in quality assurance reviews and contributes to departmental initiatives.
  • Supports the practice's mission and image by demonstrating a willingness to assist in various roles.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Computer skills are required.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Licenses and certifications are required.
