About the role

Position is located at the Clinical Support Occupational Therapy Branch, Bangor, WA location, Naval Hospital, Bremerton, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A Recruitment or Relocation incentive may be authorized. Advanced Leave Accrual may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates new to Federal service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.
  • Counsel employees on workplace hazards and exam results.
  • Notify management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions/accommodations.
  • Serve as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/ or boards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
