Physician - MD/DO - Pediatric Hospitalist

About the role
Provides pediatric services to patients at designated hospital(s) or at other Program Sites as determined by the Program Director.
Responsibilities
- Admit, manage, and discharge pediatric patients in conjunction with attending physicians as appropriate
- Evaluate patients and perform procedures as deemed appropriate by the Glennon Care Pediatrics Medical Director
- Respond to requests from facility's Emergency Department for patient evaluation and treatment
- Attend high-risk deliveries in the Program Site labor and delivery room
- Attend normal deliveries, if requested, in the Program Site labor and delivery room except when acuity of patient elsewhere in-house or in emergency dictates otherwise
- Be available at all times during scheduled shifts to provide care to neonates in the nursery as necessary
- Consult with the neonatologist as appropriate
- Respond to requests for pediatric consults from other departments
- Collaborate with advance practice nurses (APN) as needed
- Collaborate with members of the Program team to ensure continuity, appropriateness, and timeliness of care to patients in Program settings
Requirements
- BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist certification
- NRP Certification
- 12-hour shifts day/night
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of Missouri
- Board certification in pediatrics
- Experience in pediatric hospitalist care
- Experience in neonatal care
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of pediatric hospitalist and neonatal care protocols
