Physician Liaison - Tampa
About the Role
The Physician Liaison is responsible for maintaining contact with key customers and interfacing with healthcare providers within the assigned territory. In conjunction with the Sales Director, the Physician Liaison works to understand sales plans, strategies, and objectives for the territory. The role involves conducting business discussions and quality clinical sales presentations to effectively close business with targeted customers, contributing to national sales goals by driving PT Solutions Sales/Referral Rxs, and executing marketing strategies and sales plans.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective sales presentations to healthcare professionals and other customers.
- Strategically pursue business with energy and drive, holding accountability for achieving assigned territory sales goals.
- Execute sales tactics, implement marketing strategies, and consistently ask for the business.
- Exhibit an in-depth understanding of the healthcare marketplace and sales processes affecting sales goal attainment.
- Identify, develop, and maintain customer relationships to support marketing strategies.
- Prioritize efforts and resources based on knowledge of Physical Therapy services, territory dynamics, and marketplace trends.
- Understand Industry, Workers Compensation, and Occupational Therapy opportunities in the Physical Therapy marketplace.
- Build hospital system knowledge, relationships, and community opportunities while positioning against competition.
- Understand Physician Networks, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and consolidation trends.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of the Insurance and Managed Care marketplaces, including reimbursement processes.
- Develop Sports Medicine relationships in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Manage territory resource allocation to maximize profitability and monitor performance against strategic objectives.
- Align with the company’s mission and vision in personal communication and work.
Requirements

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all job-related matters.
- Sales/marketing background or education with a focus on consultative selling.
- Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical sales preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to interact with, support, and positively influence referring physicians, industry partners, superiors, and staff.
- Exceptional listening skills with proven ability to problem-solve.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting, with high integrity, reasoned judgment, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Windows-based technologies (e.g., Word, Excel) and ability to use office equipment (faxes, copiers, etc.).
- Availability to travel within the region 80% of work time, which may include overnight stays.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- In lieu of a degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.
- Two or more years of experience in a customer/public relations position, preferably in physician services, pharmaceutical/medical sales, or a related healthcare field.
