Practice Specifics

• BC/BC General Surgeon joining a multidisciplinary practice that includes family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, behavioral health, obstetrics/gynecology, podiatry, and dermatology.
• Referral base draws from five clinics serving a population of 40,000+.
• Clinical services: general surgery, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, wound care, endoscopy, and colonoscopy, with growth potential for new services.
• Located in a Trauma Level III hospital.
• Current team includes two General Surgeons.
• Flexible full‑time equivalent (FTE) options: 0.8 – 1.0 FTE.
• Call schedule: 1:2 weekday call, 1:4 weekend/holiday community call.
• Weekly schedule includes clinic, surgery, endoscopy, and daytime outreach (potentially to Perham and Fosston, MN).

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in General Surgery.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.

Compensation

Base salary of $539,000 for a full‑time (1.0 FTE) position, with incentive‑based components tied to experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses, quality incentives, or production‑based pay. Benefits package includes 6+ weeks vacation, malpractice coverage, CME allowance, and a relocation package.

St. Mary’s Hospital – Detroit Lakes, MN, centrally located in the heart of the 412 Lakes Area. The community is 1 hour from Fargo and 3½ hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Detroit Lakes has a population of approximately 9,200. City of Detroit Lakes website.

Schedule

• Shift rotation: Day/Eve/Night (United States).
• Possible remote/hybrid option.
• No call obligation on weekends or holidays.
