About the role

We are seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon to replace a recently retired surgeon and contribute to the growth and enhancement of our services in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. The position offers comprehensive practice opportunities including Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, and Orthopedic Trauma, working alongside one full-time and one casual surgeon, supported by four Advanced Practice Clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Primary access to PACS and EMR systems from home
  • Manage primary Orthopedic Calls with an Advanced Practice Clinician
  • Provide secondary calls as needed
  • Work closely with orthopedic teams at Essentia Health facilities in Fargo, ND, and Duluth, MN
  • Collaborate with physical and occupational therapy departments committed to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Enjoy a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle in a picturesque community just one hour from Fargo and three hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul

Requirements

  • Fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Current Minnesota Medical License
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload
  • Experience in joint replacement, sports medicine, and orthopedic trauma

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care

Benefits

Compensation: $701,000. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.
