Physician, General ENT | Sleep Surgery (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Location: Eye and Ear Institute (0897). Position type: regular, first shift. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check; a drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process.

About the Role

The physician provides licensed medical care, including diagnosis, specialized surgical expertise in treating severe sleep disorders, treatment (including surgery or pre-/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management, and clinical research. The physician manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations and must be competent in technical, clinical, and surgical skills (where appropriate), as well as the cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve patients. The physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physician’s standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols) and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.

Faculty Tracks

• Clinical Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, professor-clinical. Requires an MD, DO, PhD, or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years, with possible reappointment. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching and/or research.
• Tenure-Track Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: assistant professor, associate professor, professor. Eligible for tenure or tenured. Requires a PhD, MD, DO, or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO, or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.
• Research Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: research assistant professor, research associate professor, research professor. Requires a PhD or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Research faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Board certified or board eligible in specialization.
• Successful completion of a Sleep Surgery Program.
• State of Ohio and DEA licensure.
