Physician - General Child Neurology
About the role
The successful candidate will practice child neurology. Clinical duties will include outpatient clinic and inpatient consults. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible for state medical licensure
- Completed a child neurology residency
- Board certified / eligible in child neurology
Division of Child Neurology
The Division of Child Neurology joins in the collaborative efforts of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, which is made up of a team of 280 dedicated faculty in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. RNI provides compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions across the lifespan.
WVU Medicine Children’s
- Opened in September 2022, the premier site within the state for primary through tertiary care of children
- Includes the divisions of child neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, neurodevelopment, neuroradiology, neuro-oncology, physiatry and rehabilitation medicine
- Maintains a Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Clinic, Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Neurodevelopmental Center, movement disorders and telehealth programs
WVU Medicine Children's Hospital
- Full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff, and the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children
- Pediatric Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Imaging Department, Heart Center and Blood Disorder and Cancer Center
- Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, Birthing Center and maternal-fetal medicine clinic
- Pediatric cardiac surgery program, ECMO program, level IV NICU and Magnet status for nursing excellence
