Requirements

  • Licensed physician and graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology required.
  • Licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from American Heart Association;
  • Board Certified / Eligible in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Medical Specialties;
  • Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges;
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs;
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate competence in:
  • Outpatient and inpatient practice including longitudinal management of complicated cirrhotic (pre- and post-transplant), liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and general gastrointestinal complaints;
  • Team management including supervising and directing advanced practice clinicians;
  • Screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic colonoscopy including biopsy, snare polypectomy and the use of argon plasma coagulation;
  • Screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic EGD including esophageal dilation (balloon and Savary), PEG placement and management of acute variceal and on-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding using banding, sclerotherapy, cautery, and clipping techniques;
  • Esophageal function testing including high resolution esophageal manometry and esophageal pH studies;
  • Interpretation of video capsule enteroscopy.

Preferred

  • Advanced Endoscopic Candidates must be able to demonstrate competence in:
  • THERAPEUTIC ERCP including biliary and pancreatic duct cannulation, management of choledocholithiasis and biliary strictures;
  • DIGITAL EUS, including fine needle aspiration;
  • (Optional) Management of pancreatic pseudocyst including endoscopic pseudocystgastrostomy placement.

Pay

Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
