Physician, Fetal Care - Full Time - Hartford, CT
Position Summary
The Fetal Care Physician’s responsibilities will include a combination of administrative, clinical, research and educational duties. The Physician is responsible for evaluating and treating fetal patients, participating in team meetings, rounds, and fostering an environment of professionalism and growth in fetal care.
Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat fetal anomalies.
- Perform and/or order clinically appropriate procedures for each patient.
- Analyze medical histories, diagnostic lab tests, x-ray results, clinical examinations, and perform physical examinations to formulate a diagnosis, plan of care, and document in compliance with professional standards, third-party payer requirements, and the Division’s policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional health care delivery to fetal patients for the hospital, working collaboratively with and referring patients to other physicians as necessary.
- Foster collaboration within the department and interdepartmentally, and with regional hospital systems and providers.
- Work collaboratively with the Division Chief and fetal care team to build the fetal care center.
- Keep and maintain accurate, complete, appropriate, timely, and legible medical records relating to all professional services provided.
- Use and promote evidence-based clinical practice, review long-term cases requiring ongoing medical attention, assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients, and identify opportunities for enhancing quality care.
- Participate in the education of students, residents, and fellows, including their development.
- Participate in clinical activities and research.
- Maintain the requirements for an academic appointment at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
- Oversee the division including Physicians, Fellows, Residents, Medical Students, and Advanced Practice Providers (APRNs & PAs).
