Responsibilities
- Examines patients and orders diagnostic tests.
- Analyzes patient symptoms and test results and makes a diagnosis.
- Prescribes treatments, develops treatment plans, and coordinates with other doctors to treat or manage side effects.
- Leads a treatment team of other physicians and healthcare workers.
- Counsels patients and family members while promoting the well-being of patients and their long-term survival.
- Maintains patient records via the electronic chart system.
- Participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds.
- Provides education to students, residents, and fellows.
- Conducts innovative clinical and/or basic science research.
Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO Degree.
- Experience: 1 year as a BMT Attending.
- Licenses and Certifications: Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut. DEABoard certification or eligibility for board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
- Knowledge: Expertise in discipline and understand concepts in other disciplines.
- Skills: Possess excellent clinical skills, outstanding communication, bedside manner, and professionalism, excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic and capability for effective collaboration in the multi-disciplinary care of patients, strong leadership and team working skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Abilities: Solve complex problems using a sequential system, assesses circumstances using experience and a variety of information gathered.
