About the role

Vail Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician with 2 or more years of experience to join Colorado Mountain Medical. The ideal candidate will have experience managing chronic conditions, performing routine check-ups, and providing personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Maintains patient records and monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments and explaining procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Manages the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Fulfills departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Participates in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs as appropriate to the position.

Requirements

  • 3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
  • Degree from an accredited program.
  • Professional licensure - M.D. or D.O.
  • Current Colorado license in good standing, required.
  • Federal DEA certification; Medical Specialty license or certification; Board certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff office credentialing and privileges required.

Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.
  • Experience in managing chronic conditions, performing routine check-ups, and providing personalized treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of health and wellness advice, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Ability to manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
  • Experience directing and coordinating the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Experience in following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Experience participating in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs as appropriate to the position.

Pay

Yearly Pay $250,000 - $350,000 USD. Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.
