Physician- Family Medicine Primary Care

Summary

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Primary Care - Family Medicine Physician to join their Primary Care Grande Clinic in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. This is a part-time to full-time (0.5 - 1.0 FTE) day shift opening with a current requirement for Friday coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
• Manages the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Fulfills established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as appropriate.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

The UNM Health Grande Clinic focuses on providing the local community their non-emergency medical needs. Services provided at the clinic include general primary care (newborn and greater), primary medical care, women's health, annual exams, sports physicals, immunizations, treatment for common non-emergency illnesses, health promotion, disease prevention, medication management, diabetes management, and behavioral health.
