About the role
At Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport, we are seeking a Family Medicine physician to join our expanding primary care team. This is a residency faculty position with teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a collegial and multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop a customized plan of care for each patient.
- Provide high-quality treatment and diagnostic services.
- Lead and contribute to administrative decisions at all levels.
- Teach medical students and residents.
- Participate in the 8/8/8 Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Manage the refill center, which handles over 70% of your refills.
- Offer ambient listening to reduce documentation time.
- Work with LPN Care Coordinators to close care gaps.
- Utilize Ochsner On-Call to reduce call burden.
- Communicate with Remote Messaging Nurses to manage in-basket messages.
- Assist Outpatient Care Managers with complex patient management and social determinants.
- Support digital medicine initiatives for managing chronic conditions.
Requirements
- Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
- Eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure.
- Graduating Family Medicine residents are welcome to apply.
