Physician Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist-Recruitment Incentive and No IR call

About the role

The Providence VA is hiring a full-time Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist (DR/IR).

Responsibilities

• Interprets radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine studies.
• Performs basic and advanced image-guided procedures (CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies and drainages, percutaneous biliary and urologic tube insertions and exchanges) only during weekday hours; there is no IR call (no nights, weekends, or holidays).
• Participates in multidisciplinary clinical and educational conferences, quality management activities, and institutional committees.
• Maintains specialty education and basic or advanced life support certification.

Requirements

• Board-eligible or board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and current with MOC.
• ACGME DR/IR certified.
• IR fellowship-trained diagnostic and interventional radiologist.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements:
• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• Medical Degree: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• License: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Preferred Experience: Diagnostic Radiology Board-eligible or board-certified and current with MOC, ACGME DR/IR certified or IR fellowship-trained diagnostic and interventional radiologist.
