Department Overview

The Ohio State University Department of Radiology is experiencing significant growth across its research, education, and clinical missions, positioning it as a national leader in imaging innovation and care delivery. Key initiatives include:

• The Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE), which accelerates translational research in MRI, CT, and PET imaging through multidisciplinary teams.
• An expanding focus on artificial intelligence, supported by Ohio State’s designation as an ACR Recognized Center for Healthcare-AI (ARCH-AI), as well as advancements in theranostics and advanced imaging technologies.
• Ongoing renovations to support state-of-the-art infrastructure and collaborative team science.
• A comprehensive portfolio of residencies and subspecialty fellowships, reinforcing excellence in graduate medical education across diagnostic and interventional radiology.

Clinically, Radiology is expanding to meet growing patient demand and support the Wexner Medical Center’s Impact 2035 strategic vision. Investments include:

• A recently opened 820-bed inpatient hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center.
• New ambulatory care centers in New Albany, Dublin, and Powell, alongside established imaging sites across the region.

The Division of Thoracic Imaging focuses on all aspects of thoracic imaging, particularly oncology, interstitial lung disease, and inpatient critical care. Faculty are supported by dedicated expertise in imaging technology innovation, artificial intelligence, and health services research.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality patient care related to the Thoracic Imaging Service, including plain film radiography and CT interpretation (no cardiac or aortic CTA responsibilities).
• Contributes to the day-to-day clinical and imaging operations of the Thoracic Imaging Division.
• Conducts and provides clinical instruction, lectures, seminars, and educational offerings within OSUWMC and at regional and national levels.
• Collaborates with faculty and leadership to develop and refine medical student, resident, and fellow training opportunities.
• Serves as a mentor and sponsor for residents, fellows, and faculty in the Department.
• Supports clinical and translational research activities and innovation, including serving as PI or Co-I on grants and/or clinical trials.
• Serves on Department, OSUCOM, or OSUWMC committees to represent the research and innovation interests of the Department.

Requirements

• M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
• Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).
• Completion of a subspecialty fellowship in Thoracic Imaging by the time of appointment.
• Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
