About the role
The physician in the Cross-Cover role will work across multiple settings within the Behavioral Health department, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Consultation-Liaison Service, Child & Adolescent, and the Psychiatric Emergency Center, based on staffing needs determined by department clinical leadership.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Covers for other providers in various settings within the Behavioral Health department.
- Reviews medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
- Refers patients to appropriate services as needed.
- Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group guidelines.
- Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior.
- Collaborates with referring physicians, residents, clinical, and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
- Supports academic, educational and research initiatives, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees.
- Builds positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Serves as a community resource.
Position-Specific Details
- Provider Schedule: 40 hours/week (M-F)
- Call Schedule: Yes – Inpatient Weekend Call Rotation
Qualifications
- Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
- Residency and/or Fellowship trained in Psychiatry.
