About the role
St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a Psychiatrist to care for Veterans within the Mental Health Service Line.
An incentive is authorized for highly qualified candidates. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program.
Responsibilities
- Manages a panel of patients s/he follows on a regular basis and may also see unscheduled patients.
- Provides medication management services.
- Captures patient care in the Veteran's computerized medical record.
- Coordinates patient care while developing and presenting treatment plans to the multidisciplinary treatment team; initiates consults, referrals, and psychotherapy as indicated; and documents clinical activity in the Veteran's computerized medical record.
- Serves on at least one Medical Center Committee or representing the MHSL on special Medical Center projects or initiatives.
- Maintains training and waiver for provision of Suboxone as well as other psychiatric interventions deemed necessary by MHSL management.
- Provides some inpatient coverage and on-call responsibility and rotating weekday evening phone coverage.

Qualifications
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

- Previous experience with Substance Used Disorders, Inpatient Treatment Programs, and Outpatient Panel Management
