About the role
The VA Black Hills Health Care System is seeking a board certified or board eligible psychiatrist to provide general outpatient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide general outpatient care to Veterans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for various psychiatric conditions including psychosis, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, and organic mental illness.
- Assume on-call duties for residential treatment and inpatient psychiatry.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States.
- Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Qualifications
- Completed degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an LCME-accredited medical school.
- Completed residency training in an ACGME/AOA-approved program.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment options.

Schedule
- Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
- On-call duties for nights, weekends, and holidays.
