About the role

The Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a Section Head for Critical Care Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will serve as unit co-director for the Thoracic and Cardiovascular ICU (TCVICU) at Ochsner Medical Center, a 900-bed tertiary-care referral center. This position involves leading a growing team of Critical Care Anesthesiology Faculty members within the Department of Anesthesiology. The role may also include up to 30% of clinical time practicing operative Anesthesiology.

Responsibilities

- Serve as unit co-director for the TCVICU. - Lead a team of Critical Care Anesthesiology Faculty members. - Provide clinical oversight and direction for the TCVICU. - Manage the clinical operations of the TCVICU. - Participate in academic activities, including teaching and research. - Collaborate with other departments to enhance interdisciplinary care.

Requirements

- Board Certification or significant experience in Cardiac Critical Care Anesthesiology. - Fellowship training in Critical Care Anesthesiology is preferred. - Strong interest in academics and research. - Ability to work effectively in an interprofessional care model.

Qualifications

- MD or DO degree. - Current license to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. - Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program. - Fellowship training in Critical Care Anesthesiology (preferred).
