About the role
The Physician Billing Assistant will support the Physician Billing Office (PBO) with various administrative and clerical tasks related to the physician billing revenue cycle.
Responsibilities
- Send out secondary claims
- Filing/scanning of daily batches
- Sorting and distributing incoming and outbound mail
- Sending out patient itemized statements
- Affixing to the refund process, including entering check registers and mailing payments
- Cooking department calendar
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies
- Performing other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in physician practice or health care environment preferred
Qualifications
- Preferred knowledge of basic professional billing terminology
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
- Willing attitude to assume additional duties as department needs dictate
