About the role

The Physician Billing Assistant will support the Physician Billing Office (PBO) with various administrative and clerical tasks related to the physician billing revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Send out secondary claims
  • Filing/scanning of daily batches
  • Sorting and distributing incoming and outbound mail
  • Sending out patient itemized statements
  • Affixing to the refund process, including entering check registers and mailing payments
  • Cooking department calendar
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in physician practice or health care environment preferred

Qualifications

  • Preferred knowledge of basic professional billing terminology
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
  • Willing attitude to assume additional duties as department needs dictate
