Physician/Attending - Pediatric Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R Ortho)

About the role

Seeking a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) Pediatric Physiatrist to join the Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Health System. This role focuses on the medical orthopedic management of children with chronic, long-term needs, providing specialized care to children and adolescents with conditions such as spinal disorders, orthopedic oncology, limb deformities and length discrepancies, sports-related injuries, fractures, traumatic injuries, cerebral palsy, and neuromuscular disorders. The position involves close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for pediatric patients with musculoskeletal disorders, focusing on physical impairments.
• Perform gait analysis, orthotic prescriptions, bracing, casting for contractures, and recommend specialty mobility aids.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other specialists.
• Engage in clinical research and teaching activities.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Physiatry.
• Expertise in musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in pediatric populations.
• Strong clinical, research, and teaching abilities.
