Physician Associate/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Hospital Medicine Per Diem Portland/Norway, ME
About the role
MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland is seeking a per-diem Physician Associate (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to provide care in the hospital and Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Maine.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating and treating patients primarily on the hospital medicine ward
- Completing admissions and providing consultative services to various sub-specialties within the hospital, including the emergency department
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care
- Participating in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Associate or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure
- Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to effectively triage, organize, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to function as part of a team and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Associate or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
- Hold a current license to practice in the State of Maine or be eligible for licensure
- Experience in hospital medicine is desired but not required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
