About the role

Atlantic Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join Atlantic Vascular. The PA will provide comprehensive care to vascular medicine patients, working both inpatient and outpatient at various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Treat and provide health care services under direction of a physician.
  • Educate patients on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders or diseases.
  • Manage chronic diseases and illnesses, promote health and wellness.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, gather patient medical data, administer or order diagnostic tests, and interpret test results.
  • Administer or order treatment procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
  • Create and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in continuity of care.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with prescribed regimens, emotional problems, and health maintenance.
  • Conduct thorough chart reviews and chart checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with clinical standards.
  • Operate in the operating room, assist with patient positioning, sterile field preparation, intraoperative support, and post-operative handoffs.
  • Participate in hospital rounds, respond to consults, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and manage surgical cases.
  • Triage patient calls, review and communicate test results, and escalate clinical concerns.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Current PA Certification from an accredited program.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations.
  • Experience with surgery, cardiology, or critical care preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and team player with independent office visit experience.
  • Proficiency in clinical procedures and strong diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with patient call triaging and coordination of follow-up care.
