About the Role
Provides clinical medicine services and applicable administrative services to F.F. Thompson Hospital Urgent Care patients. Delivers consistent, high-quality care aligned with accepted national and community standards. Collaborates with office staff to develop and perform efficient office practices, fostering a cohesive Thompson identity. Ensures regulatory compliance and aligns patient management with health system goals. Assists the health system in meeting strategic objectives while acting in the best interest of the patient.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient data and interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to ensure age-appropriate care.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with office staff, providers, and hospital leaders.
- Apply recognized best practices in patient care within the department.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement necessary programs for compliance.
- Exhibit consistent excellence in communication with patients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and professional behavior at all times.
- Protect confidential and protected information.
- Embrace feedback from associates, patients, and families.
- Uphold the CARES values in all interactions.
- Generate legible, comprehensive, and timely patient care records (within 1 business day of service) for clinical, regulatory, and billing purposes.
- Ensure all professional licenses, registrations, liability insurance, education, renewal requirements, and certifications are current and compliant with employment standards.
Requirements
- Active NYS certification/registration as a Physician Assistant.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS recommended.
- DEA license required.
- Able to obtain appropriate F.F. Thompson Hospital privileges.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant school.
- Meets continuing education requirements of the applicable discipline board.
- Previous experience as a Physician Assistant preferred, particularly in urgent care or emergency medicine.
- Previous experience in primary care medicine preferred.
Pay
Starting pay range: $85.00/hour, based on experience.
