Physician Assistant - Urgent Care (Per Diem)
About the Role
Provides clinical medicine services and applicable administrative services to F.F. Thompson Hospital Urgent Care patients. Delivers consistent, high-quality care aligned with accepted national and community standards. Collaborates with office staff to develop and perform efficient office practices, fostering a cohesive Thompson identity. Ensures regulatory compliance and aligns patient management with health system goals. Assists the health system in meeting strategic objectives while acting in the best interest of the patient.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient data and interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to ensure age-appropriate care.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with office staff, providers, and hospital leaders.
- Apply recognized best practices in patient care within the department.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving regulatory requirements and implement necessary programs for compliance.
- Exhibit consistent excellence in provider-patient and provider-staff communications.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and professional behavior at all times.
- Protect confidential and protected information.
- Receive and integrate feedback from associates, patients, and families.
- Embody the CARES values in all interactions.
- Generate legible, comprehensive, and timely patient care records (within 1 business day of service) for clinical, regulatory, billing, and other uses.
- Ensure all professional licenses, registrations, liability insurance, education, renewal requirements, and applicable certifications are current and up to date.
Qualifications
- Active NYS certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS recommended.
- DEA license required.
- Able to gain appropriate F.F. Thompson Hospital privileges.
- Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
- Meets continuing education requirements of the applicable discipline board.
Experience
Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred, particularly in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care.
Schedule
Full-time day/evening shifts across three locations: Canandaigua, Newark, and Farmington.
Pay
Pay range: $85/hour. Starting pay based on experience.
