Iowa Orthopedic Center is seeking a Physician Assistant for our busy Shoulder practice. This role will serve as the initial contact for new shoulder patients, assess post-operative and returning patients, and collaborate with the care team to deliver excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary or specialty medical care under physician supervision
- Collect data required for diagnosis and perform authorized procedures
- Perform initial patient screenings, obtain and evaluate medical histories, and conduct physical examinations
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- Counsel patients on medical problems, medication use, treatment effects, and health maintenance
- Document entries in patients’ permanent medical records
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare team members
- Monitor the effectiveness of care
On Call: No call required
Requirements
- A master’s degree and certification by a Physician Assistant certifying body
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Active DEA license with no restrictions
