Physician Assistant - Radiology Procedures
About the role
Full-time employed position for a Physician Assistant (PA) in the Radiology department at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa. The role focuses on procedural care, performing diagnostic and image-guided procedures under departmental protocols, with limited clinical consults and rounding responsibilities. After training and competency validation, the PA will perform approved procedures independently. The position offers extensive one-on-one procedural training and mentorship, and the opportunity to build specialized procedural expertise in Radiology. Responsibilities
- Perform approved image-guided and diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental privileges
- Evaluate patients prior to procedures
- Obtain informed consent
- Provide patient education and procedural instructions
- Manage post-procedure care and follow-up
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and imaging technologists
- Assist with more complex interventional radiology procedures as appropriate
- Support quality, patient safety, and workflow improvement initiatives
