Physician Assistant, PT, Orthopedics - Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center
About the role
Treats and provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a physician. Educates patients on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders or diseases. Manages chronic diseases and illnesses and promotes health and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and gathers patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results.
- Performs treatment procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infection.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree.
- Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field.
- Valid NJ Physician Assistant license.
- American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor of Science Degree.
- Preferred: Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field.
- Required: Valid NJ Physician Assistant license.
- Required: American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) Certification.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
