Physician Assistant - Pre-Anesthesia
PAGNY is adding a Physician Assistant - Pre-Anesthesia to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. About the Role
This position supports the pre-anesthesia team at a high-volume, academic medical center with a Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history and physical exams.
- Order and review labs, EKGs, imaging, and other pre-procedural testing.
- Perform medication reconciliation and make appropriate medication adjustments.
- Identify clinical concerns and coordinate specialist consultations, medical optimization, and pre-procedural clearance.
- Provide patient education, prescriptions, and pre-procedure instructions while coordinating interpreter services, as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team while supporting quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
