About the role

Make an impact on your patient's life as a Physician Assistant, a licensed medical provider, for Thoracic Surgery. Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you would be aiding in the management of your patients in a variety of areas: outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care. You would extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by: acting as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribing medications & therapies, performing and assisting in common bedside/office procedures, as well as assisting in the operating room.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the management of patients in various areas: outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care.
  • Act as a liaison for the supervising physician.
  • Obtain histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications & therapies.
  • Perform and assist in common bedside/office procedures.
  • Assist in the operating room.

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant required.
  • Surgical Physician Assistant experience required.
  • Thoracic Surgery experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must be Certified (PA-C) or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred.
  • Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.

Pay

$119,870.40 - $186,992.00

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday Day shift with weekend rotation.
