Physician Assistant, PA / Nurse Practitioner, NP - ICU

About the role

Become an Advanced Practice Provider for the ICU Patient Population at Paoli Hospital within Main Line Health. Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you will manage your patients in inpatient, peri-operative, and intra-operative care. You will extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by acting as a liaison, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and assisting in procedures and the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the management of ICU patients under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician.
• Act as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and assisting in bedside/office procedures.
• Assist in the operating room.
• Extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by performing common bedside/office procedures.
• Invest in furthering your education through seeking certifications or advanced degrees.

Requirements

• 2 years' experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a critical care setting highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.
• Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
• Active license with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
• Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) and ACLS certification required.
• Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be certified (PA-C) or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
• Eligible for temporary or permanent privileges through the Medical Staff office.

Pay

• Up to $6,000 per year based upon your Full or Part Time status.

Schedule

• Day Shift, 7am-7pm, 36 hours/week.
• Every 3rd weekend shift.
• 2 Holiday requirements per year.
