Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Family Medicine - Limited Part - Time
About the role
Join an independent, non-profit, and award-winning critical access hospital as a Limited Part-Time Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality patient care in the charming rural communities of the Driftless Region of Southwest Wisconsin. This position involves working 10-hour shifts in clinics across Vernon Health locations in Viroqua, Westby, LaFarge, and Soldier’s Grove, with rotating days based on needs. Ideal for experienced or recently graduated APPs looking to make an immediate difference in primary care while collaborating with a forward-thinking family practice physician team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Perform assessments, physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care in a modern clinic setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as a PA-C or NP and licensure to practice in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain).
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and ATLS certifications preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
