About the role

WellNow Urgent Care is one of the fastest-growing providers of urgent medical care in the United States, with more than 150 centers across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania. The Urgent Care Fellowship program is a minimum 9-month continuing specialty rotation that provides enhanced clinical experience in Urgent Care Medicine. The Fellow will have one-on-one preceptorship with Urgent Care Clinical Faculty, learn through hands-on patient care, and receive ongoing lectures guided by a provided didactic curriculum.

WellNow’s Fellowship Program is the largest nationally accredited fellowship program for PAs and FNPs, accredited by the College of Urgent Care Medicine® (CUCM) and the Urgent Care Association® (UCA). The program offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to develop competent, proficient, and professional providers.

Mission, Goals, and Strengths

The mission of the fellowship program is to provide fellows with structured cognitive and clinical education to enable them to become competent, proficient, and professional urgent care providers. The goals are to train fellows in WellNow’s core competencies and position them for success in a fast-paced Urgent Care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Urgent Care teams under the mentorship of experienced NPs/PAs to provide care for patients, including:
  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages with acute illnesses, injuries, or exacerbations of chronic disease
  • Ordering evidence-based testing, prescribing medications, and referring to outside specialists as required
  • Providing occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and treatment of Worker’s Compensation injuries
  • Performing pre-participation physicals for camps, sports, and employment
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient charts
  • Documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited PA or FNP program
  • Physician Assistants must have active board certification with NCCPA
  • Family Nurse Practitioners must have active board certification with AANP or ANCC
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state where you are applying
  • Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, customer relation skills, and computer competence
  • Active desire to learn

Pay

Salary: $90,000 annually. Signing Bonus of $10,000 offered for qualified Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
