Position Overview
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Henry Ford Macomb. This role focuses on the perioperative management of cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, surgical first assist responsibilities, patient rounding, evaluations, and postoperative treatment planning. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative, highly specialized surgical team in a fast-paced, high-acuity operating room environment. Weekend coverage and on-call availability are required. Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of one year of cardiothoracic operating room experience.

Qualifications
- At least 1 year of Cardiothoracic experience as an APP required
- PA graduate from an accredited program
- Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure
- National certification (NCCPA)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
Credentials
- Education & Training: Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).
- Certification: PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
- DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure: PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
