About the Role

The Dallas campus of the South College Physician Assistant Studies program seeks highly motivated, team-oriented individuals to join its experienced didactic faculty team. This 24-month MPAS hybrid program combines synchronous and asynchronous online instruction with immersive on-campus learning experiences, delivering a rigorous curriculum comparable to traditional residential programs.

As a full-time faculty member (1.0 FTE), you will work 32 hours per week, allowing time for clinical employment during the week. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct didactic year students, serving as Course Director as directed.
  • Participate in didactic lab activities throughout the didactic quarters.
  • Review didactic year student evaluations from courses taught.
  • Contribute to the Didactic Curriculum Committee to evaluate and develop curriculum.
  • Develop, maintain, and mentor adjunct instructors.
  • Serve on committees at the department and college levels.
  • Provide feedback during the Annual Curriculum Review.
  • Mentor and advise physician assistant students.
  • Participate on the Student Progress Committee.
  • Prepare and track grade sheets for courses as the Course Director.
  • Engage in scholarly and research activities; maintain CME requirements.
  • Evaluate, revise, and coordinate didactic course curriculum.
  • Participate in ongoing Self Study activities for accreditation.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum aligned with the Program’s mission, goals, and objectives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program.
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Eligible for licensure in Texas.
  • Preferred: At least 3 years of clinical practice experience.

Other Information

Full-time faculty members are encouraged to participate in clinical practice to maintain clinical skills and teaching quality. A one-day release time is available for faculty who secure clinical practice, though all duties and responsibilities listed in the job description remain required.
