Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans or patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top tier Psychiatric care for residents, including the Collaborating Psychiatrist, Mental Health Professionals, and HUB Coordinators.
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary.
- Conduct daily rounds in one designated hospital, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert assessments and recommendations.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
- Offer education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Qualifications
- The PA must hold a Missouri PA license.
- The PA must practice under a collaborative practice arrangement with a Missouri-licensed physician.
- The collaborative agreement must delegate prescriptive authority.
- The PA must also have Missouri-controlled substance prescriptive authority and comply with DEA and state requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
